About the Panerai Submersible

The Submersible grew out of the Luminor Submersible line and was formally separated into its own family in 2019. The key distinction is the unidirectional rotating bezel — absent on the Luminor Submersible — and a more overtly dive-tool aesthetic.

Panerai's proprietary materials have made the Submersible line a reference point for technical watchmaking. Carbotech, BMG-TECH (bulk metallic glass), and eSteel (recycled marine waste steel) have each debuted in Submersible references, giving the line a distinctly forward-looking character versus the heritage-focused Luminor and Radiomir.

What affects the value of your Submersible?

  • Case material — Carbotech commands the strongest premiums; DLC titanium and BMG-TECH close behind; plain titanium is the most common and therefore most liquid but lowest-premium
  • Collaboration and limited editions — Mike Horn, Forrest Galante, and similar collaboration references appreciate strongly
  • Size — 42mm is the most wearable and liquid; 47mm retains a dedicated following
  • Bezel condition — dive bezels scratch and chip; unscratched bezels add meaningful value
  • Box and papers — full set is particularly important for limited edition Submersibles
  • Movement — current production P.900 series calibres are preferred over older ETA-based movements

Common questions

Where is the best place to sell a Panerai Submersible in the UK?

A specialist buyer who tracks the Panerai grey market daily will give you the most accurate and competitive offer. Pawnbrokers and general dealers typically apply a 30–40% discount against retail to hedge uncertainty. We price from live secondary market data and pay the same day.

Are Panerai Submersible watches holding their value?

Carbotech and limited edition Submersible references have shown strong secondary market stability. Standard titanium references follow broader market trends. Contact us for a same-day assessment against current grey-market data for your specific reference.
